Dispensing of patient and customer prescriptions/requisitions;
Record-keeping of pharmacy information, including drug information;
Documentation and monitoring of expiry dates of pharmaceutical products;
Monitoring pharmacy stock levels;
Ensure that the Pharmaceutical Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to;
Participate in monitoring and evaluating the quality of medicines;
Advise patients and attendants in the proper use and storage of medicines; and
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
The
ideal candidate must possess a
Diploma in Pharmacy or Nursing from a recognized institution.
Must have a valid practicing license;
Thorough knowledge of legal
regulations and best practices in healthcare;
In-depth knowledge of hospital
procedures;
Must have a minimum of one (1) years working experience in a similar role in a reputed organization;
Proficient
in basic computer skills and hospital information
management systems;
Good communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may
arise;
Diligent attention to detail; and
Ability to manage a team.
The Dispenser is responsible for serving patients by preparing medications; giving pharmacological information to multidisciplinary health care team; monitoring patient drug therapies.
