The TMR MAMA Run 2026 was more than just a community marathon—it was a powerful movement dedicated to promoting maternal health, family wellness, and access to quality healthcare services across Uganda on Saturday, 9th May 2026. Organized by TMR International Hospital, the event brought together healthcare professionals, corporate partners, mothers, families, fitness enthusiasts, and community leaders in a shared commitment to supporting healthier communities and raising awareness about women’s health issues.
The main purpose of the run was to champion maternal health and address some of the critical postnatal challenges faced by mothers, including perineal tears, obstetric fistulas, postpartum depression, and post-pregnancy body dysmorphia. The initiative was designed not only as a fitness event, but also as a community movement to stand with mothers and encourage families and communities to support women’s health and wellbeing actively.

The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Hon. Allan Bulamu, the Mayor-elect for Kira municipality, and Hon. Denis Namara the MP-elect for Buyaga West, and representatives from the healthcare sector, local government leaders, corporate sponsors, media personalities, and community advocates who all showed support for the cause. Their presence highlighted the growing importance of partnerships in advancing healthcare awareness and creating lasting impact within communities.

A major highlight of the event was an engaging panel discussion session that brought together leading medical experts, including Dr. Charity Oneko, Dr. Emmanuel Eladu, and Dr. Hillary Ankunda. During the session, mothers and families who attended the event had the opportunity to ask important questions about maternal health, fertility, women’s wellness, child health, and preventive care. The panelists provided professional guidance, practical health advice, and reassurance on a wide range of concerns affecting mothers and families, making the session both educational and impactful.
Participants also benefited from a free comprehensive wellness package that included blood pressure screening, Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment, HIV testing, cholesterol testing, and blood grouping. In addition, attendees received consultation vouchers for regenerative medicine and stem cell therapy services, further emphasizing the event’s focus on preventive healthcare and long-term wellness.

One of the most inspiring moments of the event was the sharing of success stories from mothers and families whose lives had been positively transformed through access to quality healthcare services. Participants listened to testimonies about safe deliveries, fertility support, chronic care management, emergency response services, and preventive wellness programs that have helped improve lives and strengthen families. These stories reinforced the importance of continued investment in accessible, patient-centered healthcare services.
Following the success of the 2026 edition, TMR International Hospital reaffirmed its commitment to making the MAMA Run an even bigger platform for health advocacy, community engagement, and wellness promotion in the years ahead. Plans include expanding outreach programs, increasing participation across different regions, strengthening maternal health campaigns, and introducing more community-centered wellness initiatives that will continue transforming lives beyond the event itself.
